Candidates for School Superintendent meet the public: Two new candidates are being considered for the superintendent of Boundary County School District 101, and both spent their day last Friday in interviews and meetings with District administration and personnel.

Seasonal flow augmentation for Kootenai River white sturgeon gets underway at Libby Dam: Flow augmentation for Kootenai River white sturgeon got underway last Friday, May 22, at Libby Dam after U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water managers, along with federal, tribal, and state fishery biologists, have determined that water temperatures and flows are sufficient for the operations to begin.

Badger Softball: On to State! Things were looking a little grim for the Bonners Ferry softball team during Tuesday's District Championship game. It was the middle of the game, and the team was languishing at a score of 4-1, where they trailed the league champs and top seeded Timberlake Tigers.
Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony next week: The Boundary County Chaplain Corps is honored to announce it is holding a Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Ceremony to celebrate and honor the lives the those Idaho Law Enforcement Officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Road work will affect all traffic at Eastport port of entry: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations advises that a road resurfacing project at the port of entry in Eastport, Idaho, will impact traffic entering the United States at Eastport through the summer and into the fall, until October 1, 2015.

ITD Crews cleaning, clearing U.S. 95 in Bonners Ferry through May 14: Idaho Transportation Department maintenance crews are brooming and flushing U.S. 95 of left-over winter debris throughout Bonners Ferry.

Bonners Ferry Badgers are champions in remarkable baseball season: Just in case you're not aware, we have a championship team going on here. The Bonners Ferry High School Badger Baseball team muscled their way through their Intermountain League schedule with only one loss, winning the League Championship.

BFHS Baseball eliminated at state competition: With the hopes of bringing home a State trophy this year, the Bonners Ferry Badger Baseball team traveled to Ontario, Oregon to compete for the first time in three seasons in the 3A Idaho State Baseball Championship.

Badgers performing well at District Tournament, first day results available: In yesterday's High School Track District I Tournament, the Bonners Ferry Badgers had a good showing on the first day of competition.
Bonners Ferry Baseball takes second in Districts: After a difficult and close loss in the District Championship game on Monday, the Bonners Ferry Badger Baseball team bounced back with a 10-0 shutout of Kellogg the following day to capture the District second place.
Bonners Ferry Track performs well at North Idaho Meet of Champions: North Idaho’s best track athletes met at Post Falls High School for the annual District I Meet of Champions.

Badgers win, move into District Championship game: Sophomore Jesse Dunham pitched his 2nd no hitter in as many starts and also went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI at the plate as the Badger baseball team advanced to the 3A District Title game today at 4:00 p.m.
Steamrolling Badgers knock off 5A Post Falls in tune-up for District Tournament: In their final regular season game before hosting the District 1-2 3A baseball tournament, the Bonners Ferry Badgers faced the 5A Post Falls Trojan varsity squad and came away with a 10-6 win.

Thanks to police for parade safety: Kudos to Bonners Ferry Police Officer Stolley (hope I spelled that right).
All are subject to the laws: Laws need to be changed to make everyone obey the laws and let law enforcement enforce them, instead of protecting the criminals.
Will miss Huckleberry Variety: Sorry to see Dolly’s doors closing. I can’t see how a “high end” clothing store is ever going to replace or serve our community as well as Huckleberry Variety has over the past years.
Remembering and honoring our law enforcement officers: The week of May 10 through May 16 is National Police Officer Memorial Week, to honor those that serve and that have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Recommendation for School Board voting: On Tuesday, May 19, there will be an election for Zone 3 Boundary County School District trustee. Please consider voting for current trustee and board chairman David Brinkman.
