Ina L. Pluid, 77, of Moyie Springs, Idaho died
peacefully in her home as her husband held her
hand on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 after an extended
illness. Services will be held Friday, May 29 at
the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry at
11:00 a.m. Visitation will be available for
family friends on Thursday from noon to 6:00
p.m.
She was born in Willows, California on December
11, 1937 to proud parents Dallas and Gertrude
Pitt. After living in Tekoa, Washington and the
Yukon, her family settled in Addie, Idaho. She
graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1955
and married her high school sweetheart, Robert
(Bob) Pluid, on October 7, 1956. Ina started
nurse's training at Deaconess School of Nursing
in Spokane, Washington in 1955, and graduated
from Beth-Ell School of Nursing in Colorado
Springs, Colorado in 1959.
Bob and Ina began their life together in
Colorado Springs, while Bob finished his service
with the Army, returning to Bonners Ferry in
February of 1959. They welcomed their first
daughter Kathy in October of that year. They
moved to Moyie Springs in 1964 to the home they
raised their family in, and lived there for the
next 51 years. Ina served as a nurse in town
until 1963, after which she became a full time
homemaker and community volunteer. She was a
devoted wife, mother, and friend who found
immense joy spending time with those she loved –
picking huckleberries with her husband, sharing
her wonderful sense of humor, camping and
outdoor cooking with friends and family, playing
with her grand-children, taking trips with her
girlfriends, and amazing us with her sewing,
cooking, gardening and canning talents. She
loved the outdoors, playing cards, traveling,
the arts, and enthusiastically supporting causes
she believed in. She spent many years giving
back to others - a few mentionable roles among
many include decades as a 4-H leader,
coordinator of a local blood pressure clinic,
and a leader for Idaho Women in Timber for 30
years, also holding a term as the state
president of that organization.
She is survived by husband of 58 years, Bob
Pluid, her children and spouses, Kathy and Dwain
McGinnis, Rob and Kim Pluid, Kari and Bill
LaRue, Kristi and Mike Gravelle, 13
grandchildren and spouses, Lauren (Adam) Michel,
Frank McGinnis, Mark (AndraKay) Pluid, Robbie
(Jason) Zook, Matt (Shantel) Pluid, Katie (Joey)
Miller, Emma, Maggie, and Mary Pluid, Garrett
and Sophie LaRue, and Trevor and Dylan Gravelle,
four great grand-children, Grace Pluid, Abby
Michel, Mason and Myles Pluid, her brother Loren
(Kay) Pitt, sisters-in-laws Carol Pluid and
Janetta Dudley, numerous nieces and nephews, and
innumerous friends.
Our family would like to extend our sincere
appreciation to all the friends and family who
have been such a great source of support to us
over the last several years and to hospice for
their support the last two weeks. Anyone who
knew Ina, knows that the forest never had a
better friend. With that in mind, we would ask
that in lieu of flowers, you plant a tree in her
honor.
Family and friends are invited to sign Ina’s
book at

are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry
