Badgers win, move into District Championship game;
Dunham pitches no hitter—again

Sophomore Jesse Dunham pitched his 2nd no hitter in as many starts and also went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI at the plate as the Badger baseball team advanced to the 3A District Title game today at 4:00 p.m.

In yesterday's game (Monday, May 4), the Badgers scored a run after Dunham reached on a fielder’s choice and later scored on a RBI single from Shay Garcia. In the 2nd inning, Caleb Blackmore singled to start the inning but was caught stealing for the first out. With one out, Chris Sabin walked, Vince Bennett singled and Nick Sabin walked to load the bases. Brady Bateman was hit by a pitch to score Chris Sabin and Steve Anzalone was hit by a pitch to score Bennett.

In the 3rd inning, the Badgers erupted for six runs on four hits. Caleb Gering started the inning off with a single to left followed by Blackmore and Chris Sabin being hit by pitches to load the bases. Bennett walked to score Gering and Nick Sabin hit a RBI single to left to score Blackmore. With the bases still loaded, Dunham hit a three run double to right center scoring Chris Sabin, Bennett and Nick Sabin. Dunham scored on a RBI single from Anzalone.

With the score 9-0 going into the bottom of the 5th inning, Nick Sabin was hit by a pitch to reach first base. Bateman hit a single to put Sabin at third. Dunham ended the game with a single up the middle to make the final score 10-0.

Eight different Badgers got hits in the game with Dunham going 2 for 4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Anzalone, Garcia, Bennett, and N. Sabin all got RBI in the win.

The winner of today's game moves on to the Idaho State Baseball Championship Tournament.
