Speeding on rural Roosevelt Road
June 18, 2014

To the editor:

Time for the annual rant concerning speeders. As usual, Roosevelt Road continues to see people 20-25 MPH over the posted 35 MPH speed limit. This, despite a growing number of walkers, runners, etc, due to warmer temperatures. As yet, I have never seen anyone cited for speeding on this road. As a side note, I've talked to 4-5 of the county's finest, but no action.

Also, would like to mention Canadian speeders. While driving on Highway 95, anytime a car blasts by, 90% of the time it's a Canadian plate. Do they just throw away the tickets at the border? Why do they feel they can ignore our speed laws?
