Free sports physicals offered at BCH

July 26, 2013
Boundary County student athletes are encouraged to attend the Free Sports Physical Clinic at Boundary Community Hospital August 6 for the required physical prior to participating in Idaho junior high and high school sports.

Boundary Community Hospital’s Medical Staff and hospital employees are volunteering their time so youth in Boundary County participating in sports receive a free physical.

Each year physicals are required for students who are entering grades 7, 9, 11, and are participating in any sports including cheerleading and dance. A physical is also required of those new to the sports programs, which includes students in grades 8, 10, and 12 who did not have a physical last year. The physical must occur before the first practice starts.

This is a one-night only event. Students are encouraged to attend.

The Sports Clinic is between the hours of 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, on a first-come, first-served basis. It is not required to arrive at 5 p.m.

Students will travel through six testing stations and finishing with a quick visit with the doctor. The visit with the doctor is private behind closed doors and the weight scales are in a secluded place.

The sports physical clinic is in the Outpatient Clinic area of Boundary Community Hospital. Come in “the back way” to the hospital and enter through the double doors.

Parents and or guardians must be present with the student for registration at the Sports Clinic. A consent form is necessary, with a parent or guardian signature, as well as the student’s signature, for approval and permission. Coaches have the form.

If you have a question, please call Bonners Ferry High School, (208) 267-3149 or Marcia Morman, Boundary Community Relations Coordinator, (208) 267-6912.
