Multiple choirs to gather in Bonners Ferry
for choral festival
October 22, 2014
Three choirs from Bonners Ferry and two choirs from Creston, British Columbia will gather in Bonners Ferry on Saturday, November 1 for a choral festival performance titled "Imagine." This event begins at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, just off Highway 95 on Cody Street. Requested donation is $10 for adults, $6 for students, or $29 for an immediate family.

Guest conductor Dr. Randel Wagner from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, will work with the choirs as well as any interested individuals through out the day that Saturday. He will conduct the massed choirs in concert at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Participating choirs include: Resonance (a men's choir), She Sings (women's choir), and Boundless (an octet) from Bonners Ferry. These choirs are conducted by Vicki Blake Thompson. Creston choirs include The Blossom Valley Singers (mixed choir) and the Key of She (women's choir) both directed by Anita Stushnoff.

These groups will perform individually as well as together in a multicultural extravaganza which also includes photography and art work celebrating our planet and its many cultures.

On Sunday, November 2, the concert will be repeated at 3:00 p.m., but will include Swingin' on a Star, the Bonners Ferry Children's Choir instead of the Creston choirs. Chloe Cavender is the conductor for Swingin' on a Star.

Any individual from high school age through adult who would like to participate in the workshop on Saturday, November 1 with Dr. Wagner should contact Vicki Blake Thompson for more information, to receive the music, and register. Cost is $25 which includes lunch, music, and all the workshops, rehearsals, and performance with Dr. Wagner.

Deadline for registration is Monday, October 27. Vicki can be contacted at 208-267-0854 or by e-mail to vickiblake1@me.com. This event is hosted by the Bonners Ferry Community Choirs listed above.
