BFHS grad Air Force NCO of the Year

Air Force Technical Sergeant Melissa A. (Easley) Danner, Bonners Ferry, distinguished herself as Air Force Aviation Resource Manager 1C0X2 Non Commissioned Officer Of The Year while serving as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Host Aviation Resource Management, 375th Operational Support Squadron, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, from October 1, 2012, to September 30, 2013.

Melissa is the daughter of Donald Easley, Bonners Ferry, and a 1998 graduate of Bonners Ferry High School.

As an Air Force Aviation Resource Manager, military occupational specialty 1C0X2, Melissa performs and manages aviation and parachutist Host Aviation Resource Management and Squadron Aviation Resource Management functions related to scheduling, standardization and evaluation, flying and ground training, aviation flight records, parachutist jump records and squadron operations.

During the period for which she was honored, as the sole Aviation Resource Manager for the Global Aircrew Management and Scheduling initiative, Sergeant Danner provided subject matter expertise, validating over eighty user requirements, as well as compiling a list of validated requirements for an Exercise Evaluation Team to evaluate the 375th Air Mobility Wing’s Aviation Resource Managers’ ability to survive and operate in a wartime environment.

Sergeant Danner also volunteered to deploy in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn at Operating Location Alpha, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, where she provided amendments to the 379th Expeditionary Operations Group Standardization and Evaluation Go/No-Go Program Guide, ensuring clear guidance for nineteen base Aviation Resource Managers and earning Outstanding Performer recognition.

Finally, she provided mentoring and training to critically undermanned Squadron Aviation Resource Management offices while also attending the Noncommissioned Officer Academy, where she received the Distinguished Graduate award due to her leadership and academic excellence.

The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Danner reflect great credit upon herself and the United States Air Force.
