Annie was born on November 19, 1938, in Kellogg,

age the family moved to Boundary County and

Curley Creek, Buckhorn, Northside and Valley

waitress to support herself. Annie worked for
Ester Irons and the Don’s Café.
While working at Don’s Café she met the love of
her life, Elden Koon, a Border Patrolman who was
transferred to Bonners Ferry from the Mexican
Border. They were married on July 17, 1963, and
on May 8, 1964, David Koon was born.
Elden was later transferred to Sweetgrass,
Montana, Detroit, Michigan, Helena, Montana, and
then back to Bonners Ferry, where they built a
home on 80 acres of land on the North Bench.
Because of Annie’s health problems, they later
moved to town and built a home in Bonners Ferry.
Annie loved animals and flowers and her pastime
was golfing and bingo. She was a long time
member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the
Hospital Auxiliary.
Annie is survived by her husband, Elden Koon,
son David Koon, daughter Roberta Holmes,
brothers Russell and Marion Rosco and Vernon and
John Rosco. Her beloved aunt Valdie Burkholder
