John Glen Savage

John Glen Savage, born April 14, 1967, was called to Heaven on July 13, 2016 at a very young age at the Boundary Community Hospital. John’s services will be held at the Fire Station in downtown Bonners Ferry, Idaho on Tuesday July 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be a Fireman’s Memorial Service.

John was a firefighter for South Boundary Fire Department and Bonners Ferry Fire Department. John will take one final ride to Grandview Cemetery on the “Old 55” Firetruck where he will be laid to rest. Reception will follow at the Springs of Living Water Free Methodist Church.

John’s previous occupation before Cold Water Creek in Idaho was IT (Information Technology). In 1985 he graduated from Deer Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the Senior Class President, and the Regional President of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).

John was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved North Idaho. Besides being active in two Fire Departments, he was also active in Search & Rescue, Sherriff’s Posse, EMT, and Ambulance. John was a dearly loved part of his community and local church. John moved to Boundary County in 2008 after leaving Cold Water Creek in Sandpoint, Idaho. Instantly he became actively involved in our community and never stopped giving. John battled Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer) for nine months which finally took it’s toll on him July 13, 2016. John was loved by many and he will surely be missed by all.

Preceded in death by his mother Jean Louis (Wheelock) Savage. He is survived by his father Robert Lee Savage and wife Rosemary, brother; Robert Charles Savage, sisters: Lisa Ann (Savage) Munson, Amy Lynn (Savage) Riddle, sons; Nicholas Jay Savage, Nathan Taylor Savage, and numerous friends that John had made over the years. John was an outstanding father, son, brother, and friend.
