David Dean Lindholm
March 9, 1949 ~ September 15, 2015
September 27, 2015
David Dean Lindholm, 66, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2015 at Hospice House in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. David was born March 9, 1949 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the second child born to Dean and Donnelly Lindholm.

He was a Specialist/E-4 with the 75th Rangers in the United States Army, a veteran of the Vietnam War. Due to his severe war injuries, among other medals, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

David lived a life that was always searching for knowledge. He was an inventive genius, a walking encyclopedia. He mastered every subject he found interesting. He was spiritual, resourceful and kind. Always a fan of the underdog. If you were in trouble he would find a way to fight for you – and he would win. He worked as a master plumber, master electrician, computer programmer, tax accountant, beekeeper, author, and became active in the law. He loved to write, and was a hopeless romantic.

During good times, he was known for taking his children on emergency trips to Disneyland, eating dinner at Chuck E. Cheese every Sunday night, telling terrible, terrible jokes, perpetrating countless pranks, and being a constant and stable source of help, comfort, protection and strength.

He chose to live the latter part of his life in northern Idaho. He loved the Rocky Mountains, cool and crisp fall mornings, the changing of the seasons.

He is survived by his children Christine, Erica, Marjorie, Sarah, and David; 6 grandchildren; his mother Donnelly; brothers Allan, John and Michael; special friends John, Grithcel, and Juliana. He is preceded in death by his father, Dean; brother Mark; his beloved grandparents Clifton and Thelma Johnston, and a special little lady he calls “Hula Hoop.”

His cremated remains will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, a final placement he chose because he felt it would be honorable to his grandchildren.
