September 23, 2015 |
Our mother, Sadie Amoth, was born to Henry and
Elizabeth (Esau) Wedel, on April 4, 1932, at
Montezuma, Kansas. She departed this life
September 21, 2015, at Sunset Home, Bonners
Ferry reaching the age of 83 years. Funeral
services will be held at 10 a.m. September 25,
2015 at Mountain View Mennonite Church, Bonners
Ferry. Burial will be at the adjoining cemetery.
At approximately four years of age, she together
with her family moved to Livingston, California,
where she grew to adulthood. Her father passed
away when she was 16 years old, which created a
need for her to seek employment to help support
the family. Her willingness to do so became a
central part of her personality. As a teenager
she felt the need of Savior, and upon confession
of her faith, was baptized by Min. Ben T. Koehn,
remaining faithful to her
commitment until death.
On May 16, 1954, she married Dennis Lee Amoth at
Livingston, California, sharing life’s joys and
sorrows for 54 years. Their home was blessed
with two sons and two daughters.
Dad passed away in 2008, leaving Mom to face
life alone. The last two and one half years of
her life were spent at Sunset Home in Bonners
Ferry. We as a family deeply appreciate the
loving and selfless care given to her there.
Their first home was in Santa Monica,
California, as Dad was in 1-W service there.
Following this time they moved to Bonners Ferry
for approximately eight years, moving back to
Livingston in 1963, residing there for several
years and forming many lasting friendships. Our
family returned to Bonners Ferry, where they
lived until God called them home.
Our mother was a capable and hardworking woman,
spending many years working at a local bank, in
addition to being a dedicated homemaker. Looking
back we marvel at the amount of time and effort
spent in canning, gardening, sewing and
handwork.
Those left to cherish precious memories are her
children Janine and Jake Peachey, Scott City,
Kansas, Doug and Serena, Gentry, Arkansas, Jerry
and Donna, Mora, Missouri, and Nadine and Grant
Dirks, Bonners Ferry, brother Marvin Wedel and
wife Sandy, Longmont, Colorado, sisters-in-law

Ferry, Wayne and Letha Amoth, Buhl, Idaho, Les
