Robert Lee Dillin, age 84, passed away at
Kootenai Health Hospital on Sunday, April 26,
2015. Graveside
services will be held at the Copeland Cemetery
on May 2, at 11:00 a.m.
Bob was born May 9, 1930 in Hendley, Nebraska.
Bob spent his last day of his four-wheeler
accident doing what he loved; feeding his cows
and tilling his field.
His parents, Russell and Thelma Dillin,
homesteaded in Copeland, Idaho in 1937. Bob and
Helen Davis were high school sweethearts. They
were married for 64 years. Bob was a corpsman
the in Navy from 1947 - 1951, and served in
Korea for 14 months. After Bob’s tour in Korea,
he and Helen purchased their Copeland Farm. They
worked the same land for the past 60 years. He
was one of the beginning members of the Mission
Creek Water Association, which began in 1962 and
continues to be active. Bob loved everything
outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman
and spent hours working in the flower and
vegetable garden.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, and their
children: Terali (Ted) Stonehocker of Republic,
Washington; Alan (Judy) Dillin of Ephrata,
Washington; Teresa (Mike) Mulvaney of Bonners
Ferry, ; Roberta (Brian) Zimmerman of Middleton,
Idaho. He is also survived by his 13
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and
brother Bradley (Carol) Dillin of Porthill,
Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell
and Thelma Dillin; brother, William “Bill”
Dillin; infant sister, Alta Mae Dillin; and
infant great-grandson, Layne Piippo.
Potluck dinner for family and friends following
the service will be held at Anne Widener’s home. |
