Cindy Lee Large peacefully passed in her sleep
at home in Bonners Ferry on the morning of
December 31, 2014 at the age of 60. She was
recently diagnosed with lung cancer. A Memorial
celebrating her life will be held for her at
Mountain Springs Church in Bonners Ferry on
January 8 at 1:00 p.m. Grave side service will
be held in the spring.
Cindy was born November 29, 1954 in Helena,
Montana to Les and Janet Rate. Cindy grew up in
Santa Cruz, California with her two brothers
Lester Jr. and John Carl.
After an adventurous youth, Cindy fell in love
and married Ron Large, her husband for thirty
years. They were married in California and moved
to Minnesota and later to Bonners Ferry. Cindy
was preceeded in death by her parents, Les and
Janet, and her brother Lester.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Ron, her
brother, John Carl, her children, Brandon
Poepping in Washington, Jeanette and Jason
Schlarb in California, and her six
grandchildren.
Some of Cindy’s past jobs included working at
the Bonners Ferry Senior Center and at the
Kootenai Casino. Cindy’s interests included
hunting, fishing, gardening, scrapbooking,
sewing, music, spending time with family, pets,
and her personal journey with Christ.
Cindy’s most beloved interest was her and her
husband's travel ministry, after which she
obtained a certification with the North Idaho
Chaplain Corp ministry.
Cindy was a strong willed, big hearted, caring,
and supportive woman that will deeply be missed
by all that knew her. Cindy‘s life motto is
clearly stated by “God doesn’t give us what we
can handle. God helps us handle what we are
given.”
