Clifford Andrew "Cliff" Clifton, 86, passed away
at his home near Bonners Ferry December 29,
2013. Services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday,
January 5, at Bridgeway Assembly Of God Church.
Interment will be in the Washington State
Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, Washington
Cliff was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Marion
Andrew Clifton and Thelma Maude Yarnell on April
24, 1927. He married Wanda Dill, October 17,
1970.
Surviving him is his wife of 43 years, Wanda, of
Bonners Ferry; their daughter Melissa Wolf, of
Chiloquin, Oregon, and Tammy Henshaw of Bonners
Ferry. Other step children include two sons and
a daughter. They have several grand children and
great grand children. Cliff's surviving siblings
are two brothers and five sisters.
Cliff worked at Pittsburg steel for over forty
years, retired in 1989. Cliff and Wanda loved
camping, Cliff loved fishing, hunting, boating,
and every year he would have a wonderful garden.
Cliff was an out door person, you could always
find him in the yard pruning trees, weeding,
etc. Wanda said, “He was a wonderful husband,
father, friend, and they had many years of
traveling the country together, and Cliff never
met a stranger.”
Cliff was a veteran of the United States Army,
enlisted on September 27, 1950, active duty for
two years, and in the reserves until 1956. He
was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, where he
was a chauffeur for the Colonel.
