Kayle
Jean Porter, age 19, passed away suddenly on
Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in Elmira, Idaho
when her car was struck by a train. Services
will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, at
the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene with Pastor
Chad Wilks officiating.
On January 10, 1994, Kevin and Anita Porter and
older brother Jacob were blessed with the
addition of Kayle Jean to the family. Kayle was
born in Sandpoint and attended St. Francis
Preschool, Sandpoint Community Christian School,
Sandpoint Middle School, and graduated from
Sandpoint High in 2012.
Kayle loved God, her family, best friend Brandon
Gates, his family, and all people. She loved to
travel and experience the world.
Her senior year she went with the United Nations
Class to New York and loved every minute of it.
She traveled with her family to Mexico, the
Caribbean, and Disneyland to name a few places.
She traveled to Ecuador last year on an
unforgettable trip. In June of 2010, she went on
a mission trip with the Church of the Nazarene
to Honduras. This trip impacted her life; she
was a true example of how a person going to
serve can grow and learn.
She was signed up to return to Honduras in June
of 2014, and planned to take her brother and
Brandon with her.
Kayle loved good food, shopping and looking
good. During high school she worked at Trinity,
Spuds, The Seasons at Sandpoint, Winter Ridge
and Schweitzer, always holding multiple jobs
simultaneously. She was currently working at
Sandpoint Starbuck’s and Shoga; all while
attending classes at North Idaho College.
Her dream was to live in New York and attend
NYU. She wanted to be a flight attendant to see
the world as well as study criminal justice to
maybe someday work for the FBI.
Kayle is survived by her parents Kevin and Anita
Porter, older brother Jacob Porter, boyfriend
and best friend Brandon Gates. Maternal
grandmother Wanda Andrews, uncle Louis Porter,
his wife Teresa, and their boys Lucas and
Tristan, uncle Richard Andrews, his wife Jessica
and their son Parker, aunt Diana Andrews,

She is also survived by her German Shepherd,
