Evan Miles Gatherers passed away December
28, 2012, at his home in Bonners Ferry at the
age of 53. A remembrance gathering for Evan’s
family and friends will be held at Evan’s home
at 2 p.m. May 25. It will be a potluck meal so
bring a dish.
Evan was born November 11, 1959, in Spokane to
Walter and Valerie Gatherers.
Evan’s family moved to Eastport in 1960 and he
completed all his schooling in Bonners Ferry.
After high school graduation, Evan moved to
Wyoming and worked in the oil fields. While
there he met Rebecca Heckert.
Evan and Rebecca were married in Eastport in
1982 and then returned to Wyoming. They had two
children, Jamey and April, and were later
divorced.
In 1986, Evan returned to Eastport and met Dee
Ann Parr. They were together 26 years before Dee
passed away in November, 2012. They had one
child, Christine.
Evan was an all around good guy. He was
considerate, optimistic and had a good heart. He
had a gift for building and fixing things. Evan
enjoyed his life and everyone in it. He was easy
going and lived in the moment. Nothing much ever
ruffled his feathers. He was always there to
help anyone in need.
Evan loved living in the North Idaho wilderness
where he could hunt, fish and cruise the back
woods. He loved his family very much and
cherished all his friends.
Evan is survived by daughters April Gatherers
and Christine Gatherers; son Jamey Gatherers;
grandsons Tyler and Brodie; brother and
sister-in-law Terry and Caroline Gatherers;
mother & step-father Valerie and Randy Fry and
many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and
friends.

Parr, his father Walter Gatherers and brother
