Schedule of Boundary County Fourth of July Activities
June 28, 2016
Six days til the 4th of July!

And Gary Leonard and his team, who have spearheaded the organization of Boundary County's Independence Day celebration for the past several years, are working to present another fun-filled and exciting celebration.

This year's Fourth of July celebration is scheduled with the following activities:

ó Eastport Fourth of July Parade (we are still trying to get the final information on this, in years past it has started at 1:00 p.m.).

ó Bonners Ferry Fourth of July Parade, 5:00 p.m. in downtown Bonners Ferry

ó Fairgrounds activities: picnicking, family activities, games, fireworks event, and more. The Fairgrounds will be open after the parade at 6:00 p.m.

ó Opening Ceremonies for Fourth of July Activities, 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds
             • Flag Presentation
             • Pledge of Allegiance
             •  Invocation
             •  National Anthem

ó Family Night at the Fairgrounds, presented by the Bonners Ferry Lion's Club, 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
             •  3-Leg Race
             •  Potato Sack Race
             •  Water balloon toss
             •  Potato Gun Fun

ó Raffle Drawing, 9:30 p.m.  (There are two raffles this year: a $1,000 gift card for Far North Outfitters, and a $1,000 gift card for Beck's Furniture Store—see below for details).

ó Big Fireworks Show, 10:00 p.m.

ó All invited to help out with cleanup the next day, Tuesday morning, at 8:00 a.m.

Boundary County's Fourth of July fireworks celebration is one of the best and biggest around.  If you haven't seen it yet, make this the year you go.  Checklist of things to bring to the Fireworks show:  blanket or lawn chairs, a jacket, mosquito repellant, and patriotic fervor!

As part of the effort to raise funds to pay the thousands of dollars it takes every year to put on this show, organizers are putting on a drawing.  For $20, one can purchase a ticket for a drawing for a $1,000 gift card for Far North Outfitters, or for a $1,000 gift card for Beck's Furniture Store.  Only 100 tickets will be sold for each gift card, no more, so each ticket has a 1 in 100 chance of winning a $1,000 prize for a $20 purchase price.

Tickets are available from:
-Far North Outfitters
-Beck's Furniture Store
-Mountain West Bank
-Gary Leonard, 946-9579

The winners of the gift cards will be drawn and announced at 9:30 p.m. just before the Fireworks show at the Fairgrounds.

Donations to help support the Fourth of July program are also accepted.  Anyone wishing to contribute should either visit Bonners Ferry City Hall or make a check payable to Fireworks City of Bonners Ferry and mail it to:

Get your family together and get ready to celebrate a great Boundary County Fourth of July.
