Suspects wanted in connection with murder, pursued in Bonner County, appear to have traveled to Spokane area
April 3, 2016
The trail of murder suspect James Mancuso and his female companion Ashley Ford, recently pursued by police in the northern part of Bonner County, has now led to the Spokane area.

A white Toyota pickup, suspected to have been stolen from a Bonner County residence by Mancuso and Ford, was recovered April 2 in the Spokane Valley.  Police continue to look for the pair.

James Mancuso, age 32, is being sought under a warrant for second-degree murder. Mr. Mancuso and Ms. Ford, age 27, are said to have fled the scene of the Thursday, March 10 stabbing of Robert L. Stevens, age 30. The attack occurred in Nampa, reportedly during a fight in front of a Nampa home. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died the following day. Ms. Ford has a warrant for arrest for accessory to second-degree murder and as a material witness in the case.

The car originally driven by the pair, a Subaru Forester, was spotted in Bonner County and pursued by law enforcement March 23. However, due to muddy conditions and the cross country nature of the pursuit, the suspects were able to elude the officers.

Their Subaru was found abandoned shortly afterward, and soon the Bonner County Sheriff's office received a report that a white Toyota pickup had been stolen in that same area. It was suspected the pair had likely stolen the pickup, and that vehicle has been sought until it turned up Saturday in Spokane Valley.

Mancuso and Ford are still at large. The United States Marshalls Office continues to look for them, and are following up on recent information, according to a press release from the Bonner County Sheriff's office.

They are still considered armed and dangerous.
