Paradise Valley Church renovation project progressing
June 14, 2015
A few weeks ago, work started on a project to do a significant update and renovation on the Little White Church in Paradise Valley, a landmark building in the area that has been standing in Paradise Valley for 112 years.

Initially, plans started off rather simple and basic: get a solid foundation for the building, and a new floor for the inside. From that point, the next steps would depend on the resources and available work force to determine what could be done next.

The project started off with some good funding. An anonymous donor gave $5,000 for the project. An area family offered to donate windows, and the Trail Blazers 4-H Club sold flower seeds and bulbs and raised $2,000 for the project.

Once work got underway, things really started picking up on the renovation project. Perhaps the progress that has been made is best said by those who are working directly on the job. Here is their report:

"Quite a bit of progress is being made on the restoration of the little white church in Paradise Valley.

"Thanks to the hard work of a number of area men, the building has been raised, piers are being poured and the floor inside the church is now level.

"A number of neighbors have stepped up and made generous donations of not only money, but someone has donated the material to replace the roof, another is going to replace the windows and another will replace the doors that are in rather poor condition. Others stop by daily and offer their support and praise for the work that is being done. Some have provided lunches for the guys on the job.

If anyone is interested in donating time, talent, or money for the project, stop by when you see the guys out there working or call Larry Hall at 267-0801.

We are also including some up-to-date photos of the work being done on this project.
