Coming up May 8-9-10: The 2015 Moyie Mud Bog
April 29, 2015
The countdown is down to only 9 more days: Organizers are putting the finishing touches on this year's 2015 edition of the Mud Bog at Moyie Springs, and are expecting lots of attendance, and lots of mud. The Mud Bog starts on Friday, May 8, and runs through the weekend, ending on May 10.

The event, organized by Bruce Behrman, includes rock crawling, sand drags, and the Moyie Mud Pit. Live bands will also be on hand, along with a bonfire and various vendors. Camping is available.

Attendance at the Mud Bog has been as high as 2,000 mudders and spectators in the past. People have come from as far away as California, Florida, New York, and other distant states. People have even flown in from Great Britain.

Organizers of the Mudd Bog like to look at it as a sort of modern day rodeo, but a rodeo that uses cars and trucks instead of broncos and bulls.

And, like the rodeo, the Mud Bog organizers are trying to ensure the event remains safe. They are discouraging excessive use of alcohol and disorderly behavior. "We have tightened up on security," they said, "and our main concern is the safety of our Mudders and spectators."

Parking will not be a problem at the Mud Bog, and organizers say they have reorganized the entry system at the gate and added more staffers to prevent traffic backups.

They are emphasizing that "Absolutely None" of the following things will be allowed:
• Glass bottles
• ATVs
• Anybody under 18 without a parent/legal guardian (and, they say, your 18 year old cousin/brother/sister, etc. does not count!)
• Dogs
• Unauthorized vending
• Fighting of any kind. "You fight, you're out," say organizers.

Everyone in the vehicle must wear their seatbelt at all times on all obstacles. Security will be on duty 24 hours a day during the event.

The Moyie Mud Bog will be held on May 8, 9, and 10 at 2136 Eileen Road, Moyie Springs, Idaho. If using Mapquest to find it, you must use "Moyie River Road" instead of Eileen.

Entry to the event is $25 per person age 13 and older. Children ages 12 and under are free.

For more information on the event, see the Moyie Mud Bog website by clicking here. Or, you can call 208-290-8940 or 208-448-2395.

Another go round of the Mud Bog will be set for later this year, on October 2, 3, and 4.

They are inviting everyone to "Come get muddy at Moyie!"
