Fish and Game lists statewide job openings,
include some nearby summer jobs

Idaho Fish and Game periodically lists employment openings with their department. In their most recent listing, three summer jobs are included that are located in areas in or near Boundary County.

Their webpage lists many Fish and Game job openings around the state. The job openings that are close by are in Bonners Ferry and Coeur d'Alene.

In Bonners Ferry, they are looking for a Fisheries Bioaide. Description of this summertime position is as follows:

Fisheries Bioaide
"Assist with multiple research projects aimed at restoring various fish populations in the Kootenai River in northern Idaho. Research projects may include work involving nutrient restoration and trout, white sturgeon and burbot studies. Specific duties may include: boat electrofishing, assisting with the operation and maintenance of a nutrient addition site, conducting redd surveys for trout, sampling for sturgeon with setlines and by angling, maintaining a passive array of sonic telemetry receivers, gillnetting for juvenile sturgeon, and maintaining equipment and boats. Position requires trailering and operating boats and working outside in all weather conditions."

The summer positions in Coeur d'Alene, with their job descriptions are:

Fisheries Technician:
Primarily responsible for conducting fish sampling and managing data for a variety of management-related projects in the Panhandle Region. Duties will include, but may not be limited to, conducting creel surveys, sampling fishes with a variety of gears, entering/managing data, and operating and maintaining boat, vehicles, and sampling equipment.

Also in Coeur d'Alene:

Fisheries Bioaide
Serve as part of a regional fisheries crew conducting management-related projects in the Panhandle Region. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with fish sampling, angler surveys, data entry, and maintenance of boats, vehicles, and sampling equipment.
