Icy roads lead to wreck with semi and pickup
January 7, 2015
A two vehicle collision involving a semi and a pick up shut down Highway 95 at milepost 515 for several hours this morning and sent one man first to Boundary Community Hospital and then to Sacred Heart in Spokane.

According to the Idaho State Police, Gurpreet Singh, 21, Calgary, was driving a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer south at about 12:37 a.m. when he lost control near mile 515 and slid into the northbound lane, hitting a 2008 Ford F350 driven by Stuart Watson, 59, also of Calgary, head on. When the vehicles came to a stop, the pickup was underneath the tractor, with Watson, conscious and talking, pinned inside.

Highway 95 was completely blocked by the semi, and shut down in both directions. The highway reopened at around 5:25 a.m.

Investigation is ongoing.
