Winter storm warning today
January 4, 2015
The National Weather Service is continuing its Winter Storm Warning, in effect this morning from 7:00 a.m., until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, Monday, January 5.

In addition, a Hazardous Weather Outlook is in effect, as the effects of this winter storm are anticipated to impact highways and travel.

The weather service is calling for heavy snow accumulations across most of the Inland Northwest, with the snow changing to freezing rain in some areas Sunday afternoon and into Sunday night.

They are predicting snowfalls of 5 to 11 inches in the valleys, and 12 to 24 inches in the mountains. They are projecting the light snowfall we are now having will increase in intensity Sunday afternoon and into Sunday night.

Chance of snow remains at 80% into Tuesday, dropping to 30% by Tuesday night. Temperatures for the area are predicted to be in the mid twenties to low thirties.
