Bonners Ferry Police arrest suspected
interstate drug trafficker |

The Bonners Ferry Police Department announced
the arrest of a 22 year old Kila, Montana man
for alleged possession for sale of a controlled
substance, following an early morning traffic
stop by Bonners Ferry Police.
According to information from the Bonners Ferry
Police Department, yesterday, November 18, at
approximately 5:15 a.m., Detective William
Cowell observed a vehicle driving erratically in
the area of the North Hill of Bonners Ferry.
Detective Cowell initiated a traffic stop in the
area of Highway 95 and Sunrise, just outside of
city limits. Upon making contact with the
driver, Detective Cowell smelled a strong odor
of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The driver, later identified as Jarek Matthew
Paszek, age 22, from Kila, Montana, was arrested
on drug charges. Paszek’s 1998 Dodge Intrepid
was towed for evidence. Detective Cowell then
prepared a search warrant for the suspect’s
vehicle. A warrant was signed by the Honorable
Justin Julian of the Boundary County Court.
Detective Cowell along with other investigators
from the Boundary County Drug Task Force served
the search warrant later that day and recovered
approximately 24 grams of suspected heroin, 2
grams of suspected marijuana, and 1 gram of
suspected methamphetamine, along with scales and
packaging material that police say are
consistent with sales of narcotics.
Investigators also located several containers
with hidden compartments that police believe are
used to secrete drugs in a manner consistent
with someone transporting narcotics. The
approximate street value of the seized narcotics
is over $3,000.00.
Suspect Paszek was transported and booked into
the Boundary County Jail for a number of
narcotics related offenses. Reports will be
submitted to the Boundary County Prosecutor’s
Office with felony Charges pending. |
