Police and school administrators identify suspect in last week's school bomb threat
November 19, 2014
Bonners Ferry Police, in cooperation with Boundary County School District 101 administrators, have identified a 12 year old suspect in last week's November 12 bomb threat at Boundary County Middle School.

About 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 12, teachers found a small scrawled word on the wall of a classroom used for detention. Emergency responders arrived at the school and evaluated the scene, making a determination it was a false alarm.

School officials working in conjunction with Bonners Ferry police officers conducted an investigation, and were able to determine that only three students had access to the location where the message was found. Officers were able to narrow the search to one student based on evidence found at the scene.

School officials are using administrative punishment to address the student’s behavior. The investigation is on-going but no criminal charges are forthcoming at this time.
