New business in downtown Bonners Ferry:
Woodsman's Shop
August 27, 2014
Open now for six months, the Woodsman's Shop is located in downtown Bonners Ferry at 6389 Bonner Street (just down the side street from Jill's Cafe).

"As a result of my disappointment with so many retailers replacing traditional, high quality goods with barely functional imports, I decided to create my own ideal shop," said Lance Echt, owner.

"Many of my products are suitable for preppers, shooters, hunters, fishermen, off-gridders, bushcrafters, woodworkers and collectors. The unifying theme that my merchandise shares is that the products must be useful and of the highest quality manufacture while still offering exceptional value," said Mr. Echt.

Merchandise stocked in the Woodsman's Shop includes ammunition, knives of top quality brands, magazines (not the reading kind), axes, various books, leather working materials, lamps and lanterns, vintage and military items, and much more. Further, Mr. Echt offers services such as sharpening, consultation on wilderness and woodsman's items, and a convenient layaway service.  He is willing to buy, sell, or arrange trades for items that fit his business' mission philosophy.

Mr. Echt and his family moved to Boundary County from Florida a little over a year ago.  "We looked at places where we might move, and we were in a fortunate situation where we could move anywhere we wanted to.  We had heard great things about this place."

While traveling, on a whim they made a trip to visit Boundary County, and fell in love with the area.  They moved here, set up shop, and now the Woodsman's Shop is open for business.

The Woodsman's Shop has a website with more information, found at
