Independence Day Activities in Boundary County
July 1, 2014
Will there be any fireworks in Bonners Ferry for the Fourth of July this year?

That seems to be the question recently on the minds of many people in our area as Independence Day approaches.

"It is going to happen," said Gary Leonard, who has been in charge and very committed to seeing that this event happens for the past few years.

"We will have an event very similar to the last two years with a few small changes that I believe will make the fireworks display even more breathtaking," said Leonard.

As in recent years, there will be family events, food, train rides, and other entertainment at the Fairgrounds in the hours leading up to the Fireworks Show. Everyone is invited to be there for all the entertainment. The evening will be capped with a fireworks display, which will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m.

Here is the schedule of activities for the day, released by Mr. Leonard and his group:

Looks like another fantastic Fourth of July celebration!

Donations to help pay for the fireworks and other aspects of this annual event are still being accepted. Donations can be made at the Bonners Ferry City Hall. All donations are tax deductible, and donors will receive a receipt from the City.

Final Note: Just so everyone is aware, Eastport is also sponsoring an Independence Day Parade on the Fourth. The Eastport parade is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. All those participating in the parade can set up and assemble between noon and 1:00 p.m. in the field near the stockyards just south of Eastport.

Have a great Fourth of July, as we all celebrate the Independence of our Nation!

Note:  The Eastport Fourth of July Parade begins at 1:00 pm
