Speed restrictions to start on Highway 1

March 8, 2014

Speed restrictions will go into effect on Idaho 1 from the Hall Mt. Junction to the Canadian border Sunday, March 9. The restrictions are designed to protect the road and travelers until warmer spring weather can solidify the road base.

Idaho 1 will be restricted beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday. Speed will be limited to 30 mph on commercial vehicles 10,000 pound gross vehicle weight and over.

Parts of Idaho 3, Idaho 41 and Idaho 57 already have restrictions.

U.S. 95 restrictions have been cancelled from the junction of U.S. 2 to the Canadian border due to improving roadway conditions.
