February 9, 2014
Three people, one a Bonners Ferry High School senior and two from Creston, were taken to the hospital Saturday evening following a head-on collision on Highway 95 in the Rock Creek area.

According to the Idaho State Police, Kelsey J. Shutes, 18, Bonners Ferry was driving north in a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo when she crossed into the southbound lane near milepost 518 at about 9:46 p.m. and struck a 2012 Chevrolet pickup being driven south by Gerald D. Palmer, 46, Creston, British Columbia.

Both he and his passenger, Samantha J. Palmer, 29, also of Creston, were transported by Boundary Volunteer Ambulance to Boundary Community Hospital. Shutes, whom the ISP said was not wearing a seatbelt, was flown by a Life Flight airplane to Kootenai Medical Center.

Investigation into the crash continues.
