One of Bonners Ferry's own talents is vying for the chance to fulfill the dream of a lifetime, the opportunity to share the stage with American Idol winner and heartthrob Taylor Hicks, but Amber Reed needs your help, and she needs it quick!

On Sunday, Amber entered a video of her singing Adele's "One and Only" to become a contestant in a competition sponsored by the Clearwater River Casino & Lounge, where the winner is to be chosen partially based on the number of viewer votes they get.

The only problem is, she waited until the last minute, barely making the entry deadline, and tomorrow, New Years Day, is the voting deadline for those who'd like to help her see her dream come true.

"Yes so I need lots of help today!" Amber said. "Leave it to me to wait till the last day. Busy mom schedule leaves little time for me."

Amber is no stranger to the stage; she performs regularly at events around the community, including on one of the world's smallest stages at her Dad, Rick Reed's, famous comedy venue, The Tower, the World's Smallest Comedy Club.

To cast your vote to put Amber on a stage much larger than the Tower in its entirety, you need to go to http://www.crcidol.com/, where you'll be able to get a gander at the contestants, and there are a bunch, coming not only from Idaho, but from Montana, Oregon and Washington as well.

It helps if you sort by "most recent."

Amber is way behind, too, so it's going to take a truly concerted effort to put her over the top. Since her video went up last night, she's received five votes as of this morning. The contest leader, whose entry has been online considerably longer, has amassed 3,505 votes.

It's a long shot, but Boundary County folks thrive under that kind of pressure.

If she wins, Amber will open for Hicks, who won the fifth season of American Idol in 2006 and has gone on to become one hot artists of the day,  at a concert at the Clearwater River Casino & Lounge in Lewiston on Saturday, January 11.

Three judges will make the final selection this Friday.

"HELP ME out peeps ... I need ya!" Amber pleads.
