Weather advisory issued for snow and ice

December 22, 2013
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory a region including Boundary County effective from 7 p.m. today to 10 a.m. tomorrow for light snow and freezing rain.

Light snow is likely to develop this evening, but is expected to transition to or be mixed with freezing rain for several hours tonight and into tomorrow morning, which could make Monday's commute treacherous.

About an inch of snow is possible, which could be covered with as much as a tenth of an inch of ice.

The alert area covers Boundary, Bonner and Kootenai Counties, northeast Washington and northwestern Montana.
