Copeland honored by district

December 10, 2013
By Principal Gary Pfleuger

What an elementary school needs is consistency and what Pam Copeland gives to this district is just that! Pam has worked for the Boundary County School District for 15 years.

This experience, together with common sense, a history of our community dynamics and a strong work ethic equals the honor of Boundary County School District 101's Classified Employee of the Month.

Pam is a straight forward individual with a strong moral compass.

In her role of Lead Secretary at Valley View Elementary she: looks over the budget, writes up purchase orders, collects time sheets, keeps the attendance of students and staff, answers the phone, greets parents and guests, schedules the gym, calls substitute teachers, completes state reports, keeps student records, as well as attends to the accidents and injuries of 380 elementary students.

To make things more impressive, this list is not totally complete!

Not many people can do this job! Pam completes these tasks at VVES with a smile and the assistance of Sarah Binnall.

I have enjoyed my role as school principal for over 24 years. A strong school secretary is the #1 factor in the success of an educational program.

On the behalf of our students, the staff and our community — I thank you, Pam, for your dedicated service to Boundary County.
