Libby water supply forecast released

The Libby Dam December April to August water supply forecast (WSF) volume is 5502 KAF, which is 87% of the long-term (1929-1999) average and 94% of the near-term (1981-2010) average; this inflow volume forecast calls for an end of December reservoir draft target of 2426.6', which is only 0.1' from a full relaxed draft target.

The month of December has a variable draft target based on the December WSF. When the December WSF is greater than 5900 KAF the draft target is 2411.0', and when the forecast is less than 5500 KAF the draft target is relaxed to 2426.7'. In between 5500 KAF and 5900 KAF the elevation is interpolated.

The current elevation is 2433.8'.

The January WSF will likely be issued in the first full week of January.
