Allergy support group formed

Living with an allergy can be hard. It is even
harder for a child. The mother of one local boy
who has been struggling with a life threatening
peanut/tree nut allergy has decided to help
others with such an allergy, young and old
alike.
Marsha Eberhard of Bonners Ferry is starting a
support group for peanut and/or tree nut allergy
sufferers and those who care for them.
At each meeting you will be met with happy
faces, new information on the allergy, stories
of how to cope and live day to day with an
allergy that is all around you, and learn fun
and creative ideas for food, and crafts.
Many may not know just how common products with
ingredients that contain peanut and tree nuts
are. If they do not contain nuts, often times
they are manufactured in a facility that
processes them, which can be enough to cost some
their life or health.
Such common household items as, cosmetics, shoe
polish, cleaning products, some brands of
crayons and more are often found in homes with
allergy sufferers, and go undetected due to lack
of information.
"I think that with more children being
identified with peanut and/or tree nut allergies
that having a support group in our community to
discuss and support one another would be a good
thing," Marsha said.
This is a no cost/no obligation support group,
its sole purpose is to inform one another as
well as family and friends about this fast
growing allergy.
