Logging operation to cause delays

July 18, 2013
The Bonners Ferry Ranger District will be conducting a helicopter logging operation on the Snow Way Stewardship Project near the Roman Nose recreation area. This operation will cause some delays on Snow Creek Road #402.

Helicopter operations are scheduled to begin July 22, 2013. Forest visitors can expect delays on Snow Creek Road #402 up to thirty minutes. Snow Creek Road is the most direct road to the Roman Nose area, but an alternate route is available by taking Myrtle Creek Road #6333 over Crooks Pass Road #661 then on to Roman Nose. There will be signs and a flagger in the area to warn the public of upcoming delays

Operations include log truck traffic, service vehicle traffic and helicopter logging. Road delays are necessary for public safety while the helicopter flies over and lands on Snow Creek Road. For more information on road status and conditions please visit the Idaho Panhandle National Forest’s Road Status web page.

Logging operations at this location will continue until further notice. For more information please contact the Bonners Ferry Ranger District at (208) 267-5561.
