Traffic to shift on Highway 95 near Athol

June 9, 2013
Traffic on a seven-mile section of U.S. 95, between Chilco and Athol will shift to the nearby frontage road paralleling the highway beginning Monday, June 10, and continue through July 1, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The shift is necessary for work on the widening and realigning of this portion of U.S. 95.

Traffic will be width-restricted to a 12-foot lane in each direction, with the speed limit reduced to 45 mph.

Scarsella Construction Inc., of Kent, Wash., is the contractor on the $36 million project to widen and realign U.S. 95 between Garwood and Sagle. The project is being funded through GARVEE (Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle) bonds bonds, which allow ITD to advance critical infrastructure improvements in vital corridors throughout the state.

The project is expected to finish in late August.

Questions or concerns should be directed to ITD Resident Engineer Jason Minzghor at (208) 772-1253.
