Laments closing of Huckleberry Variety
April 29, 2015
April 28, 2015

To the Editor:

The closing of Huckleberries is a great loss to our community. When Dolly took over The Dollar Store, she made an already thriving business into something even better. Her hard work paid off and showed that she was thoughtful in how to fill a need for our community.

There are items in her store for everyone. She provided a place children can walk to and shop. While being affordable, Dolly’s choice of merchandise is still quality. Huckleberries is the kind of iconic store every small downtown needs. Its closing is a shame.

I can speak for many and say thank you Dolly, and sorry. Let’s see what could possibly fill that spot and serve the community as well. Hopefully, we aren’t going to see a block full of more empty buildings.
