We may not always agree with School District spending

To the Editor

There are so many reasons that anyone could come up with to not support the school Maintenance and Operations Levy.

We understand that many individuals don’t always agree with or like how the district uses the funds that they are provided with. But as a matter of fact, none of us will agree with them 100% of the time. Not even all the board agrees with one another in every decision, and that will never change no matter who is on the board. In the end, you can say that you won’t give the schools more money because you disagree with how the money is spent, but that really will only take services and opportunities away from the students.

If you disagree, then please, be involved. Go to board meetings. Know what’s happening and have a say in it. If that’s not enough for you, then run for a board position. But please, don’t take away from our children, and in the end, our community, because of your disagreements.

Be involved, make a difference and support our schools with your money, your time and your talents. After all, whether your own children are grown and gone, you don’t have children, your children are homeschooled or they go to school elsewhere this is still your community and your future that we are building in our public schools. Together let’s build the best one that we can!
