The Badger ladies started out strong Thursday at St. Maries, leading 14-8 after the first quarter, but the Lumberjacks chipped away through the rest of the game to hand the girls their first loss on the season, 57-45.

In the second quarter, the Badgers scored another 14, with St. Maries putting up one point more. At the half, the Badgers led 28-23.

But the Lady Badgers faltered coming out of the locker room, putting up on six points in the third quarter while St. Maries totted up 17 to take the lead going into the final quarter, 40-34, then widened their lead in the fourth, outshooting the Badgers by six, 17-11.

Due to a delay in finding non-copyright results, the headline and season record published December 17 in "Lady Badgers undefeated in six games" were incorrect.

I regret the error.

Weather permitting, the Lady Badgers host Eureka, Montana, today to take on the Lincoln County High School Lions, with JV hitting the floor at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity facing off at 7 p.m. Both are Pacific time zone; for Mountain add one hour.

The boys are at home Thursday, hosting St. Maries, 5:30 p.m. for JV and 7 p.m. for varsity; and the girls are at home again Friday to host Lakeland, with JV at 4:30 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.

Get out and cheer on the Badgers!

If anyone on Badger coaching or stat keeping staffs, or any Badger fans willing, I'd very much appreciate having even just legible post-game cell phone photos of team rosters and stat sheets for all Badger sports, including frosh and JV, emailed to mikeweland@gmail.com or sent via Facebook private message. Game/match photos and/or a few highlights and coach/player quotes would be wonderful, too!

As much as I'd love to attend games, my medical condition after two strokes makes it difficult for me, and remainiing long enough when I can go to get the information I need to provide the Badger sports coverage these athletes deserve is extremely tough, leaving me spent for days after.

If anyone is willing to help or has questions, please email me or call (208) 295-1016.

I can't offer to pay, but I will be happy to give byline and photo credits, and always a tip of my derby and my sincere thanks for your help and service to Badger fans everywhere!
