The Badger boys sprint medley team.
I had a great weekend traveling to Eagle, Idaho, with the Badger track team for the State 3A Championships. They represented Bonners Ferry well!

The Badger relay team; Meg Newell, Anika Blackmore, Allyson Merrifield and Mackenzie Mendenhall took third in the 4x200 relay and fifth in the sprint medley, and the boys sprint relay team; Zach Heigel, Rock Stapley, BenHorton and Jacob Callister, took fourth.

Callister took second in the 400 meters and third in the 800; Stapley took eighth in the 100 meter. Micah Krmpotich finished seventh in the 1,600 meters and Collin Cossairt finished the race in ninth place. Krmpotich took fifth in the 3,200 meter race.

Stapley, Callister, Cossairt and Jared Lysne finished seventh in the 4x400 relay.

The girls 4x400 team; Blackmore, Merrifield, Mendenhall and Elizabeth Racer, took fifth.

Mendenhall also took fourth in the 300 hurdles and Blackmore came in sixth in the high jump, clearing five feet. Sarah Schuman, a junior, took ninth in the discus with a toss of 101 feet.

Other Badger competitors included Gabby Munson, pole vaultJocelyn Placios in the 800, Amy Sayers in the 3,200, Brianna Stofiel in the 400, Kody Rice in the triple jump and Kyler Rice in the high jump.

All in all, the Badgers gave outstanding effort ... nice job, team!
