Apparently, too many parents are not recognizing
that Little League isn't just a boy's game ...
and they seem to question when their talented
young daughters want to sign up.
The girls are saying enough is enough!
From 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 15, the GIRLS
Little League Softball teams are going to be
signing up at the Bonners Ferry Visitor's
Center, and BOYS aren't invited!
"We have had small turn-outs for the last couple
of sign in periods that it was just for boys,"
said Little League vice president Sabrina Winey.
"We want to get the word out ... this is for
GIRLS!"
To register, girls will need a copy of their
original birth certificate, a signed medical
release form from a parent or guardian and proof
of residency. Age categories are Minors, ages 8
to 11, Majors, ages 11-12, and Juniors, ages
13-14. Girls must have reached league age as of
January 1.
Cost is $45 for minors and majors, $50 for
juniors.
Registration forms are available on the BCCL
website in the "handouts" section. If you can't
make it in to register, forms, fees and required
documentation can be mailed to BCLL, 1201
