Lacrosse Club needs support
February 18, 2012
By David Brinkman

In 2006, the Bonners Ferry Lacrosse Club played in it first season. It was a season filled with promise and most of that was fulfilled. John Nierowski and I had an opportunity to mold the young men from that team based on the promise of financial support for the season's team.

John funded the team through his personal credit and away we went.

Well, as often happens some things didn't turn out as planned and the donors never gave the monies to John.

Since that time, he has continued to help keep the sport and its opportunities alive for Boundary County. John has tried to fundraise to help recover some of the more than $10,000 that has been spend to have the sport here, but it has been tough for him to find funding.

Though I have not been involved with the team since the 2007 season, I have seen the dedication these athletes have in learning the sport, the sportsmanship and the life lessons that go with it.

Iam writing today to ask you to help support Bonners Ferry lacrosse. I fear a day when the burden overtakes Coach Nierowski and we lose this opportunity in our community.

How can you help? Well, funds are obviously the easy answer. Your donation of 5, 10, 20, 100 dollars or more can go a long way towards helping offset this debt that has allowed students to play.

You could also purchase Bonners Ferry Lacrosse merchandise from the team. You may want to help provide a job opportunity to raise funds like the folks at Les Schwab time have done each year.

These are just a few ideas.

Coach Nierowski could use your help. If you have ideas on how to help, want to donate funds or ask more about Bonners Ferry Lacrosse please contact John at (
208) 267-2778 or his cell at (208) 610-0605

Thank you for supporting this opportunity for kids in Boundary County.
