Charlotte Rae (Carter) Perin, 76, passed away on
Friday, December 1, at Alderwood Manor in
Spokane. She was surrounded by her children and
mourned by the nursing home staff who had come
to know her well over the years.
A celebration
of life will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday,
December 17, at Millwood Presbyterian Church,
N3223 Marguerite Road, Spokane Valley.
A reception will follow at a family member's
home.
"Char" was born on April 16, 1941, in Bonner's
Ferry to Jake and Edith Carter. She was raised
in the area but lived in Spokane for much of her
life.
An animal lover, Charlotte bred and showed Great
Danes, including Blue Ribbon winner "Tigan."
Once honored by the American Women's Business
Association, Charlotte also owned and managed
several successful businesses over the years.
Throughout her life, Charlotte, or "Mama," was
known for her kind heart, bingo skills and
legendary Parker House rolls.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Leslie S.
Perin, siblings Lavelle, Jerry, Vicky, Jim,
Buddy and their families, her son, Ken Miles,
step-children Thea, Steph, Charlie and Cindy;
and her "Kazemba Kids" David (Liz), Brian
(Maggie), Kayla (Andy) and Kara (Kevin).
Charlotte was "Grandma Char" to Jon, son of Ken;
as well many others and is survived by numerous
nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren who lit
up her world with their visits and handmade
artwork.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents,
Jake and Edith (Wood) Carter, sister Carolyn
(Carter) Wiggins and daughter Lisa Kay (Miles)
Kazemba.

where two of her treasured friends, Peanuts and
Pickles, were found and loved fiercely by
Charlotte. |
