Mable Lillian Grigsby, 93, passed away on
Tuesday, November 28, 2017, in Centralia,
Washington. A memorial service will be held at 2
p.m. Saturday, December 9, at the Kingdom Hall
of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 217 Harmon Road,
Chehalis, Washington.
She was born to Harold D. Todd and Freda G.
(Brady) Todd on December 8, 1923, near Bonners
Ferry.
The family moved to Hoquiam, Washington, when
she was four years old. She married Theodore D.
Grigsby in Montesano, Washington, on April 5,
1941.
They moved near Bremerton, Washington, where Ted
worked in the Naval Shipyard. At the end of
World War II they returned to the Aberdeen,
Washington, area where they lived for many years
and raised their family.
Following retirement they moved to Chehalis,
Washington. Ted passed away in 2008, they were
married for 67 years.
Mabel is survived by four children: Claudia Jean
Swift (James) of Burlington, Washington; James
D. Grigsby of Baker City, Oregon; William F.
Grigsby (Eunice) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and
Janet L. Grigsby of Chehalis, Washington, by
granddaughters Karen Castello (Randy),
Burlington, Washington, and Abigail Grigsby, Rio
Rancho, New Mexico, great-granddaughters Elise
Walker, Portland, Oregon, Haley Walker, Rainier,
Washington, and Aubriel Walker, Burlington,
Washington, great-great-grandsons Jaxon and
Nolan Houx, both of Rainier, Washington, brother
Clifton D. Todd (Helen), Olympia, Washington,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, husband
Ted, brother John, sister Helen and
granddaughter Loida.
