Katherine Rose Malone, Nashville, Tennessee, was
tragically killed Thursday, August 3, 2017, in a
truck-pedestrian accident while on a run near
her family's cabin on the Pend Oreille River in
northern Idaho.
She was born in Orange, California, September
16, 1980, to James W. and Jennie Adams Rose. She
attended Avondale West Elementary, Jardine
Middle School, Topeka High School and is a
graduate of the University of Kansas, where she
was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
After working on Capitol Hill, Katie moved to
Nashville in 2007. She was a member of the
Robertson County Runners, Nashville Junior
League, P.E.O. and Westminster Presbyterian
Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosie; her
parents, Jim and Jennie Rose; her brother and
family, John, Amy and nephew, Will; a
step-sister and niece, Jeanette Rose and Haley
Macfarland; former husband, Patrick; in-laws,
Mike and Sue Malone; and sisters-in-law, Erin
and Lauren Malone. Additionally, she loved her
large, extended family and a host of cherished
friendships.
A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m.
Tuesday, August 8, at First Presbyterian Church,
817 SW Harrison, Topeka.
A second memorial service will be held at 11
a.m. Friday, August 11, at Westminster
Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Ave.,
Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to

Church, Nashville.
