born in Anchorage in 1914. Helen’s parents, John

career included work on the Alaska Pipeline,
being a gas fitter for Anchorage Natural Gas, an
independent long-haul truck driver and owner of
Belfair Auto Parts. Calvin worked hard for his
family and he enjoyed his play time as well. He
was a seasoned fisherman who provided many fish
for the family table. There were many wonderful
family camping trips to Homer, Alaska.
