Dean James Bigham, 77, died peacefully at home
on May 17, 2017. There will be a Memorial at 2
p.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6829 Kaniksu Street,
Bonners Ferry.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of only
seven years, Linda (Hyland) Bigham, children
Deana Yeager (Rick), Timmy Bigham (Julie) and
Rhonda Acree, siblings David Bigham and Marilyn
Condon, step-children Rick Hyland, Randy Hyland,
Robyn Hyland-Perry (Mark) and Judah (Kerri Ann),
grandchildren Jason (Christina) and Brandon,
great grandchild Hunter and several nieces and
nephews.
Dean was born and raised in Oakland, California.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1960.
While stationed in Guam and Honolulu, he fell in
love with the tropics. Another love was his wife
Joyce and children. He moved his family to
southern Idaho in 1967. In 1971, the family came
north to Sandpoint.
Dean has resided mostly in Boundary County for
the last 35 years in a quaint cabin where the
serene Ruby Creek runs through the property on
Ruby Ridge Mountain.
He loved the outdoors; especially when the bear
and moose were knocking on the cabin door. His
Bear Sausage was delicious! His home-brewed beer
was also quite tasty and sought after by those
who had the pleasure of tasting it.
Dean was a lover of his God Jehovah and he
enjoyed studying the Bible. He was an active
member of the Bonners Ferry Congregation of
Jehovah’s Witnesses. |
