Billie Vern Poulton, 82, passed away on Thursday
May 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Private graveside services will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
Bill was born December 29, 1934, to Jim and Fern
Poulton in Fort Peck, Montana. Bill grew up in
Fort Peck and Hardin, Montana, until he and his
family moved to Winnett, Montana, when he was in
third grade, where he met Pat for the first
time.
Bill quit high school to work for his dad on the
ranch at the age of 15 and started dating Pat.
At the age of 18, Bill moved into town and went
to work for Gulf Oil.
Bill and Pat married on March 17, 1953, in
Roundup, Montana, and moved to Gillette,
Wyoming, where he continued working for Gulf
Oil. They went on to have five beautiful
children. They followed the oil crew with their
mobile trailer until 1960, where they settled in
Baker, Montana, and got into the trucking
business with three of his own trucks.
In 1968, they moved to Bonners Ferry, and ran
the BF Redi Mix until his retirement.
After retirement, Bill and Pat enjoyed traveling
to warmer places in the winter and fishing in
Alaska. Summers were spent in Bonners Ferry. His
best times were spent in his large garden and
with his family. He loved being with his wife,
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was such a big part of all of our lives and
will be so missed.
Bill is preceded in death by his great
granddaughter. Angela Marie Poulton. He is
survived by his wife, Pat, of 64 years, children
Rich Poulton, Olympia, Washington, Randy Poulton
(Linda) Marana, Arizona, Carrie Figgins (Joe),
Cathi Winkelseth (Alan) and Shelly Yount (Jack),
all of Bonners Ferry, brother and sisters Tom
Mayo (Shirley) Bonners Ferry, Ruth Mayo,
Roundup, Montana, Rose Snider (Jack), also of
Roundup, and Susie Winey (Steve) Bonners Ferry,
grandchildren Kali (Chris), Andrea (Nick), Kourtni (Howie), Billie (Nicole), Lynsie (Matt),
Tina, Josh (Rachel), Kevin, Kaylan, Wade
(Nicole), Kendall (Kyle), Kynsie (Tyler), Jordan
and Ashley (Mike), and 26 great grandchildren. |
