Born in 1949 to Enid and Wilbur “Bill”
Clemenger, Lillie was six years younger than her

She grew up in San Bernardino, California,
raising south down sheep, participating in the
4-H program, while learning and then playing the
piano, organ, and flute in the school marching
band, her church, and on into college where
music was her focus.
The Clemengers moved to Placerville, California,
where she met Dale Albertson while working at
Vips as a waitress. She had four children there
and taught many music lessons.
In 1992, Lillie and Dale found the wonderful
town of Bonners Ferry. Lillie quickly planted
roots sharing her skills and talent throughout
the county jumping into all the rolls she could
fill 4-H leader, leaders council secretary,
founded the Mt. Hall Musketeers 4-H club, played
piano and organ at the free Methodist and LDS

orchestra conductor. One of her favorite things
was to play for the Missoula Children’s Theater.
The people of Boundary county were her “home,”
the music, joy, and fellowship everyone gave her

to end her days surrounded by the love of her
family and community.
