It is with great sadness that the Leach Family
informs the community that their beloved father
and husband, Eddie Leach, passed away on January
2, 2018. A Service will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday, January 6, at The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6568 Alderson Lane,
Bonners Ferry. All family, friends and loved
ones are invited to attend.
Eddie Dwayne Leach, age 61, passed away in his
home in Bonners Ferry while sleeping. He was
preceded in death by his beloved wife two weeks
prior on December 19, 2017.
Eddie was born in Anchorage, Alaska on December
28, 1956. He was the son of Donald M. Leach and
Nancy Sheldon.
Eddie attended high school in Germany while his
father served abroad in the Air Force, then
finished off his high school career in
Woodbridge, Virginia. He soon met his wife to
be.
In June of 1978, Eddie married his sweetheart
and love of his life Leslie A. Hill. They began
their journey together in Pasadena, Texas, and
started a family.
Eddie and Leslie had four children in Texas and
later moved to Bonners Ferry in search of work
and a place to call home. He found himself
working for TRYGG, a chain manufacturing
facility. Soon the opportunity to own his own
business arose and he never looked back. For the
past 24 years Eddie has owned and operated White
Mountain Chain.
Much of his time was spent cultivating and
building his business, but in his spare time
Eddie could be found with his wife and family.
He worked very hard so that he could provide for
his family and offer his wife the best life that
he could give her.

Together they spent much of their time visiting
different grandchildren, children and going on
trips in more recent years. Eddie found the most
joy when making his wife happy and being by her
side no matter what they did.
Eddie had many hobbies that varied from riding
his motorcycle to fixing up his hot rods. When
he was not golfing with friends and family he
could be found by the barbecue cooking the next
meal, whether that was for his family or the
others in the community. Eddie had a passion for
visiting with others and a talent for getting
anyone near him to feel at ease and open up. He
could spend hours talking and telling stories.
Eddie was a devoted member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was
committed to serving others, often in quiet
ways. He was involved in serving his church
family in various church callings. He often was
one of the first members to arrive on Sunday
morning and the very last to leave, ensuring
everything was taken care of.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Nancy Hartzog,
and step mother Linda Powell, daughters Melissa
(Eric) Lovejoy and Amanda Leach, sons Aaron
(Teresa) Leach and Benjamin (Drea) Leach,
sisters LaDawn Hadley and Josette Leach,
brothers Josh (Pam) Leach, Jared (Alicia) Leach,
Michael Leach, Jacob (Irina) Leach and Isaac
Leach, granddaughters Halle Lovejoy, Lindsay
Lovejoy and Kaidance Leach, and grandsons Tayson
Leach, Rex Lovejoy, Rylan Leach, Kallen Leach,
Benson Leach, Maxwell Leach and Hudson Leach.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald
M. Leach and his wife Leslie A. Leach. |
